Southern Peaks 50km – Presented by Act Belong Commit
Southern Peaks 37km – Presented by Impulse Cycles
Southern Peaks is a cross country MTB race over either 37km or 50km.
Starting at the stunning Maitraya Private Resort travelling over some of the most stunningly beautiful coastline the region has to offer. Maitraya Private Resort is normally closed to the public so, this is the only time you can ride around this beautiful pristine estate.
Thanks to the Dept of Parks and Wildlife the route then travels through more breathtaking coastal scenery to the highly anticipate Emu Point channel crossing where riders are ferried across surprisingly quickly! The route then travels through a variety of sneaky single track, gruelling climbs and the ‘hidden’ highlights of central Albany where the 37km riders finish in the Albany Town Square Event Village.
50km riders continue from the Albany Town Square Event Village delivering even more challenging climbs, steep descents and all round amazing views from the top of Mt Melville. Riders finish up back at the Albany Town Square Event Village for celebrations and well-deserved beverage!
Thanks to Busy Blue Bus we’ve been able to provide bus transfers to competitors who have pre registered for on the day transfers. Competitors have been assigned to buses and have be notified of the times by email.
Unfortunately we are now at capacity for this service. If you had not registered for this service you will need to arrange your own transport to the start of the race at Maitraya Private Estate..
There is parking at Maitraya however, due to access cars can only leave the site after the race has started.
Southern Peaks includes access to some tracks and trails that can only be ridden during the event. It is greatly appreciated that all riders acknowledge this and respect these landowners outside the race period. Rest assured that it will take in the absolute best singletrack that Albany has to offer. Like us on Facebook to see sneaky course hints in the lead-up to the event!
